Frequently Asked Questions

Chatlines

Q. What hours will I be expected to work?
A. This is entirely up to you and one of the main perks of being a chat line operator means you can work as little or as often as you like, and for as long as you like each time you log on. So whether you can spare 20 minutes in the morning, or several hours in the evening, it's up to you. Do check as some companies require you to work a minimum of so many hours per week.

Q. Can I work at 3am if I want to?
A. Yes, absolutely. Chat lines are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you can work at any time of day or night that you wish to.

Q. What if I want to work one month and not the next?
A. That´s fine, although some Companies require a minimum amount of hours.  Just keep your Company informed.

Q. How often do I get paid?
A. Payments go directly to your bank account every 2 weeks or every month through an automated invoice and payment system. Again, companies offer different payment schedules so always check first.

Q. Do I get paid the whole time I am logged on?
A. You will get paid for every minute that you spend in conversation with a caller and for every message received in virtual chat - so keep the caller on the phone as long as possible or send out plenty of virtual messages too.

Q. How much will I earn?
A. This depends how often you log on to work, how long you keep the caller on the line or how may messages you receive. Rates vary from 10 pence per minute to 18 pence per minute for live chat depending on the time of day. Chat line operator manual details a full breakdown. A free copy is sent to you on completion of the application form

Q. What does being self-employed mean?
A. All chat line operators are self employed rather than being - this means you are responsible for your own Tax and National Insurance. More detail is provided in your information manual.

Q. Do I just be myself during the phone calls?
A. Being a chat line operator is all about having fun - so you can create characters and really become an actress throughout the call. But whatever is comfortable for you - so long as you are lively and bubbly and your caller is enjoying chatting with you, he will stay on-line for longer and you will earn more money.

Q. How do I register?
A. It's very simple. Just complete the application form for the Company you wish to be work for and they will be in touch within a few days. You will receive a full information manual in the post with lots more detail on this fun job.

Q. Is this a taboos line?
A. Yes it is. Our services are regulated by law, so there are subjects that cannot be approached or discussed by either the customer or the operator. They include MURDER,PAEDOPHILIA,BESTIALITY,INCEST,RACISM,DRUGS, NECROPHILIA,HEAVY TORTURE – THIS INCLUDES USE OF KNIVES, BRANDING & CANNIBALISM are strictly illegal and they have to be reported to the Company who will ban the Caller.

Q. How do the callers get connected to me?
A. The caller rings a premium rate number, which takes them to an automated service. The caller then selects who he wishes to speak to and then the system connects the caller to your phone or webcam show.

Q. What kind of equipment do I need?
A. Phone chat hosts only need to have a corded landline telephone that is free of all call barring, call waiting and answering services. We do recommend that you get a second line installed to lessen your chances of being disturbed by personal calls. Webcam hosts need a high resolution web camera and broadband internet connection.

Q. Can I work from my cell/mobile phone?
A. No, the companies only bounce calls to a landline phone. This number cannot be a cell/mobile number.

A. Each Company require different equipment, we advise you check with each employer prior to your application.

Q. Are these Companies open to worldwide employers
A. Each Company has its own specific requirements, please check with the Company you wish to apply to.

SURVEYS

Q. Can I really get paid just for taking surveys online?
A. Yes, this is a very real way to make money online in the comfort of your own home. There are over 7 million companies that actively survey consumers to find the best way to promote their products. These companies are willing to pay you to give your opinion. Your opinion allows them to get in touch with consumers and their views, habits, and opinions. These companies are willing to pay you for your time!

Q. What is the difference between a survey and a focus group? Can I participate in both?
A. A survey is normally a page or two of questions. Surveys can range from 10 to 30 questions. They are normally short and take little time to fill out. Focus groups on the other hand are normally longer forms that can sometimes follow you for a few days about a particular subject. They might ask you a series of questions, receive your response and then ask you another series of questions. Because of this they pay much more. You can participate in surveys, focus groups or both depending on the time you have available.

Q. How do I know the companies will really pay me? What guarantee do I have that I will be paid?
A. All the companies on our list have been thoroughly researched. If a company was to not pay a survey taker we would be the first to know. Any company that would do that would be quickly removed from our list. In the many years we have been offering surveys we have never heard of a company that did not pay a survey or focus group participate. The companies we list are very reputable marketing companies that have a high standard of business.

Q. Can I do this from any computer? Do I need to download anything?
A. There is nothing to download. You do not need any special computer or operating system. You simply log in and find surveys. This can be done from any computer, at any time.

Q. I really love the free bonuses. How will I receive them? Do I need to do anything special?
A. All  free bonuses are available in our members area. You just log in after registration and redeem the free bonuses. You can log in anytime as many times as you wish and redeem the free bonuses.

Q. Can I trust these companies with my personal information and email address? I don't want to receive Spam after I sign up!
A. All the companies on our list have strict privacy polices. The only persons with access to your information will be the survey companies themselves. They are not allowed to share your information with anyone. This also means they can not sell or share your email address with any third party. You do not have to worry about getting Spam mail just because you sign up to take surveys.

Q. How many surveys can I take? How much income can I earn?
A. The amount of surveys taken, and income earned will depend on how much time and effort you put into the surveys. Average monthly income will depend on each individual, and their effort put forth. A person who checks their email often and responds to surveys invitations quickly, or logs into the members area to see what new surveys are available often will obviously make more than someone who only logs in one a week. Income is solely dependent on an individual’s effort and attention to survey offers.

Q. How am I paid and how often? Am I sent a check by postal mail?
A. The company you will be doing the survey for will pay you by company check sent by postal mail. Some companies will allow you to be paid by Paypal online. Paypal is a online payment center which you can us only if you choose. NO, you do not have to accept PayPal for paychecks. You can specify you only want payment sent postal mail by company check. Most paychecks are sent twice monthly .. some will pay once a month.

Q. Does it matter where I live? Are the surveys open to everyone - even world wide?
A. Most paid survey opportunities require that you are at least 18 years of age, but other than that there are no specific requirements. Some companies will only accept survey takers in the USA, but most are looking for Survey takers from all over the world. Because of this, we have listed which companies are US only and which are International. This makes it easy to know which to apply to depending on where you live. We are the only company we know of that lists this information. We care about our customers and don't want you to waste your time. Time is money!

Q. Can I participate in the same surveys as others? Are there enough surveys to go around?   Will surveys ever "run out"?
A. Yes, hundreds of people can, and will take the same survey. There are hundreds if not thousands of surveys available every day. Most surveys will require a very large amount of participates so there are always plenty of surveys to go around.

Q. How do I know this is not some SCAM? How do I know this is a legitimate employment offer?
A. We have been in business for two and a half years and going stronger than ever!   In fact, there are many, many, more surveys and survey offers available today than when we first opened our business. The need for survey takers keeps rising and we need to fill the employment opportunities. If this was not a legitimate employment offer we would have been out of business long ago.

Q. Why is there a fee to join?
A. Companies charge a one time only registration fee because we only want serious job applicants filling out our surveys.  If they allowed access to the surveys for free we would have "curiosity" applicants filling out survey applications that were not really serious about the surveys, and taking up applications intended for serious job applicants. In the past we offered the program for free and found many surveys were not being completed and this pay could have gone to another, more reliable and serious survey taker. We want to weed out the "just curious" applicants from the "serious and reliable" survey employees. Since a survey taker can easily make the application fee back in only about an hour online, we don't really see it as a fee, but a way to show you are serious about being an online survey taker.

Q. Is the registration fee one time only? Are there any other fees after the one time registration?
A. The registration fee is one time only. There are no recurring fees. There are NO other fees or anything to sign up for or purchase after registration.

Q. Can't they just take the registration fee out of my first paycheck? I'll pay after I do my first survey.
A. As much as they  would like to do that they just can't. The survey paychecks are sent directly by the company that conducts the survey for the specific product or company. Paychecks for the surveys are not sent directly from their office so there is no way for us to deduct the registration fee.

Q. I want to sign up!  Is it safe to give my credit card information online?
A. YES!  No matter what rumors you have heard it is MUCH safer to give your credit card information online than anywhere else. Unlike going to a restaurant or giving your credit card to the store clerk where strangers see your credit card number, authorization number and expiration date, no one at clickbank.com nor other Survey companies see your credit card information.

As it states on clickbank.com's web site.

Clickbank.com uses Advanced Security -128 bit encryption processing.
Clickbank uses sophisticated international fraud control to screen all purchases. For maximum card security, all orders are sent directly to the banking network for immediate authorization. We do not store any credit card or bank account numbers.

This means the ONLY person who sees your credit card number, security pin, address, or expiration date is you and your bank. No credit card records are viewed or kept by clickbank or paidsurveysonline.com.

Q. What happens if I forget my access to log into the members area? Can I retrieve my access?
A. The Companies will be happy to re send access if you lose it. After sign up you will be sent a clickbank receipt to your email account confirming your registration . Please save this receipt just incase you need it to verify your purchase. You must forward us your entire clickbank receipt to verify the purchase and then we will gladly re send your access.

Payment Question Answers

Q. How much will I make?
A. Your income can vary drastically. As we provide such a large resource of opportunities we can not guarantee how much each member will make. Some opportunities will require less work than others. Also, many of the real jobs listed will pay a salary, while with other companies, the amount varies per person. We do provide an opportunity or job no matter your desired income.

Q. How and when will I be paid?
A. This varies by company. Most companies will pay by check, while many also offer payments by Paypal. Very few companies use other methods of payments. Employers will generally pay by check. Company payment schedules will range from weekly to monthly.

Q. What about taxes?
A. This also varies by company and especially by country of residence. Some companies will require that tax forms be filled out for US residents.

Requirements Answers

Q. How old do I have to be?
A. Most companies will require that you are 18 years of age or older. There are some opportunities which are available to younger individuals, but we wouldn't recommend becoming a member to our database until you are 18 as you will not be able to fully take advantage of your membership.

Q. Do I have to work set hours?
A. Very few companies will require that you work set hours? Most of the opportunities listed allow you to work your own schedule.

A. Most of our opportunities do not require any type of skill. Only some of our employers listed may require that you have some type of skill or experience.

Q. Do I need to spend more money after signing up?
A. The simple answer is no.

Q. What will I be doing?
A. They offer a multitude of opportunities so as to provide everyone with an opportunity to earn an income from home. Different opportunities will have different requirements.

Membership Answers

Q. Why do I have to pay to become a member?
A. It takes time and money to maintain such a database as well as provide members with customer support. They are unable to offer such a large resource for free. Also, because they are charging for services, you can be sure you will only receive the highest quality services, along with regular updates and reliable customer support.

Q. How can I join if I do not have a credit card?
A. Most online companies offer different methods of payments and Paypal for instance will take a payment from your credit card.

Q. Can you deduct my membership fee from my paycheck?
A. They require the fee upfront. They are not an employer, so you are not paying for a job, but you are paying to access our membership area which will provide you with many types of work at home jobs and ways to make money.

Q. Will you charge me at any time in the future?
A. No. They only charge you once to become a member. You will receive all future updates and membership benefits for free.

Q. What if I am not happy with my membership?
A. We will first try to help you in any way possible. If you have spent time trying our opportunities and do not believe that we provide you with real, legitimate opportunities make money, you may ask for a refund within 8 weeks of registering. Simply send us an email letting us know why you would like your account closed and that you want to receive a refund of your membership fee which will take about 5 to 15 business days to be credited back to your account. Please note that your membership account will be disabled immediately once a refund has been processed. You will be unable to access any future updates. Refunds can only be processed on credit card payments. Remember also clickbank which most Companies are affiliated with offer a no questions asked refund. On How2's website we try and recommend companies that accept payments through Clickbank because of their immediate refund policy.

Q. Do they provide phone support?
A. Most provide support by email. Their customer support is available every day of the week to assist all visitors and members. But please check with the Company you are a member with.

Q. Do all of your jobs listed require experience?
A. No. There are positions for those who are experienced and inexperienced. Some employers will be willing to train and require little to no experience.

Q. Do I have to register for a Paypal account to join as a member?
A. We get this question a lot from people wishing to join but they don't have or want a PayPal account. Actually, you don't need a PayPal account to become a member, you can safely use your credit card or debit cards (where applicable).

Paypal processes the credit card payment and sends it to your credit card company, you don't have to sign up for a Paypal account if you don't want to.

Q. Why do you use Paypal?
A. In order to protect us and our customer from potential fraud related issues, we use Paypal to verify your information ( such as name, email, and billing address) and financial information such as credit card number, and expiration date). Your credit card information is accessed by the Paypal ordering system. Currently we neither deal with credit cards nor store them in our system. You can find more information about PayPal's privacy policy here

Q. Will I be able to work full time?  Part Time?  Flexible hours at my convenience?
A. Some of our listings are full time, some of our listings are part time, some of the listings can be done either way.  Some of the jobs will require you to "log in" or assume a specific time shift during the day or a specific number of hours per week while others are totally flexible and can be done at your convenience.  Sometimes you can even work as much or as little as you want depending on what else you have going on that particular day or week.  Many members work at home because of the flexibility to be there to meet the demands of their children and other family members.  Working at home is perfect for that in most cases. Always discuss with your prospective employer(s) what the time demands will be for that particular position.

Q. How much does work at home pay?
A. Just like traditional jobs in your local newspaper you'll find that our work at home jobs vary greatly with regard to pay rates and other aspects of wages. They may include just about every pay range imaginable... jobs that pay very modestly and jobs that pay in the low to mid-six digits. Most positions average $8.00 - $24.00+ hourly. We've had great jobs posted at our website in the past with great employers that paid $97,000 a year, and offered great benefits!

Our website does not verify pay rates or verify the accuracy of income claims made by companies who are listed at our website as they vary and are based on skills and or by that particular company.  Please address questions about wages, including pay rates, benefits, and similar issues directly with the employer(s) you're interested in working for.

Q. Will my employer(s) deduct taxes from my paychecks?
A. Pay policies will vary from company to company, job to job.  This is a question that you should ask of prospective employer(s) that you are interested in working for.  When you work at home you are usually able to work unsupervised during flexible hours depending on your lifestyle. Many people who work at home are considered independent contractors.  There may be advantages or disadvantages to this pay arrangement depending on your particular situation so you should discuss this with a qualified tax and/or legal advisor.  Most independent contractors who work at home are responsible for paying their own taxes and often put a little bit of each paycheck into a savings account for when it comes time to pay taxes.  Other work at home opportunities will be employee relationships and your employer will deduct your taxes.  Again, this is a question that you should ask of prospective employer(s) that you are interested in working for.

Q. Can I work for more than one company at a time?
A. This is a question you should ask of any prospective employer(s) that you work for or are thinking about working for, but generally speaking you are free to work for any company you wish when you work at home,  including more than one employer if you wish.  One of our members reported to us working part time for three different work at home jobs.  He said he got a kick out getting multiple paychecks in the mail box every week.

Q. Will someone be there to help me if I need help after I become a Member?
A. Most work so hard to provide you the most hassle-free, scam-free work at home experience you could ever imagine, you may find that you never have a problem you need to contact them.  But if you ever do need help, they generally have a top notch customer service teams ready to assist you in any way they can!

MLM

Q. Is MLM Legal?  Is MLM Ethical?  Is MLM the same as Pyramid Selling?  Do I need to sell to succeed in MLM?  Do I need to sponsor/recruit to succeed in MLM? What’s the best kind of reward plan?  Can anyone really succeed in MLM?
A. We haven't tried to answer every possible question about MLM or Network Marketing here, just the ones that keep coming up. If you can't find an answer to a question or concern you have, please feel free to e-mail us the details.

Q. Is MLM legal?
A. Unless a particular country has laws that prohibit direct selling, MLM is usually perfectly legal. Some countries, states or provinces have laws or regulations that may limit what you’re permitted to do in your MLM business (such as Not For Retail, cooling-off periods, no products kit sales in the first week or month or similar). The UK and Canada have laws that govern how you conduct your MLM business. So do some other countries. These laws are usually a well-meaning attempt by authorities to prevent unethical conduct. Unfortunately, they're really an attempt to control motives and attitudes, which can't be legislated, so they too often end up having the wrong effect on the wrong people.

Q. Is MLM ethical?
A. Like the question above, the answer is yes — depending on your motives and methods (why and how you do it). The principles on which MLM is based are completely ethical. However, unethical people can introduce practices (such as “front end loading”) which are entirely unethical. Others try to cover up the fact that their business is MLM, or the identity of their MLM company, or that you need to sell, using deceptive practices that are, in reality, unethical.
None of this means that MLM itself is unethical. It just means that, like in industries where a great deal of money can be made (cars, white goods, real estate, etc), you’ll find people who are prepared to exploit and manipulate others for gain. MLM is no different. All this really proves is that there’s obviously a lot of money to be made in MLM, or those parasites wouldn’t bother.

Q. Is MLM the same as Pyramid Selling?
A. Absolutely not — unless people in MLM have a Pyramid Selling mentality. For a full explanation of the differences between MLM and illegal Pyramid Selling Schemes see our section on Income Schemes.

Q. Do I need to sell to succeed in MLM?
A. One way or another, you need to be able to sell in order to succeed, no matter what anyone tells you (see “Is MLM ethical” above). Even if it's only yourself as a potential sponsor or your own business opportunity. You  need to set goals and action plans for success. You even need to sell yourself, from time to time, on the vision you originally had when you got involved in MLM. But selling doesn't have to be pushy or manipulative. In fact, the best sellers are usually teachers and leaders, not hype merchants. Selling is WHAT you have to do to succeed. Pushy and manipulative are WHY and HOW you do it. There are better reasons (why) and methods (how) that produce faster, bigger results.

Q. Do I need to sponsor/recruit to succeed in MLM?
A. You can make some money and save some money in MLM. But, if you really want to take advantage of the unique leverage offered by MLM, you need to sponsor/recruit. It’s like riding a bicycle. You can get yourself an old single-speed bike that has no gears. If you want to go faster, you have to pedal faster. If you want to climb a hill, you have to push harder, even though your speed is almost at a standstill. It's hard work, and it takes a long time to get anywhere. On the other hand, a 10-speed bike means you can cruise at high speed in high gear, with very little effort then, when you need to climb a hill, you simply drop the gears back to low and put in a little more effort and get there much quicker for a lot less effort.

Sponsoring increases the amount of product flowing through your MLM business, exponentially. And it boosts your rewards exponentially, too. It reduces the amount of time and effort required. Best of all though — and you should never, ever lose sight of this reality — it gives you the opportunity to help other people become successful, financially independent, confident, and provides you with a large group of people, who share your own values, with whom to enjoy the journey and share the rewards.

Q. What are the best kinds of products for MLM?
A. If there’s one kind of product that's best suited to MLM, it’s products that are genuinely consumable. That is, people use them up, then come back for more, regularly. That means you acquire a customer once, then just keep on selling to them over and over and over again. Products that cost a lot of money and are bought only once (or only every few years) can be successfully sold by MLM. But you have to keep finding new customers every month.

Warning…
Sometimes you may think you have a consumable product — only to discover that you don’t a have a repeat customer base. The problem here is that many consumable products require a change in consumer behaviour before the benefits can be gained. These may include some health or weight loss programs where, because of force of habit, customers cheat or give up before they get the benefits they wanted. Give careful thought to this important factor — people will usually not persist if they have to discipline themselves to change their behaviour to gain a benefit. Low margin products are usually not very successful in MLM, either. Especially food and grocery lines, and especially if they put you in direct competition with large supermarket chains. For every company that succeeds in this area, there are many more that fail. Sure, lots of people join, because everyone buys these types of products. But, when margins are tight, and supply is often unreliable (lots of “out-of-stock” lines), the cost of making more than one delivery to supply a single customer order can make the business unprofitable very quickly.

Q. What’s the best kind of reward plan?
A. “One that works!” is the obvious answer to this question. But, seriously, there are many types of reward plans, and people succeed and fail in ALL of them.

Q. Can anyone really succeed in MLM?
A. Yes, they can, providing they meet the conditions on which that level of success depends. This is what separates the winners from the losers in any area of life, not just MLM. The difference in MLM is that those conditions are achievable by anyone willing to create a clear vision for themselves, then invest the time, effort and discipline needed to realise that vision. It requires some basic knowledge, attitudes and skills. It does NOT require any particular gifts or talents, although these can help speed up the rate of success.

The secret of success in MLM is leverage — the extent to which you can duplicate your achievements through sponsoring, training and supporting others to do what you do.

eBay

Q. How do eBay auctions differ from “real” auctions?
A. Buyers and bidders new to eBay are often shocked and bewildered to discover that eBay auctions don’t work like the most common form of auction to which they are accustomed. There are a number of important differences between eBay auctions and “regular” auctions.

Q. How can I be sure I'll get enough for my item?
A. If you would like to try selling an item on eBay, but aren't sure you want to sell at rock bottom prices, reserve prices or a high starting bid price are the way to go.

Q. Are those auctions for real?
A. There are so many weird auctions on eBay, surely they can't all actually result in sales, much less for the tens of thousands of dollars that some of them appear to earn for their sellers. Right?

Q. Does eBay archive auction listings?
A. eBay maintains auction listings indefinitely, but using the eBay website members can only access listings that have ended within the last 90 days.

Q. Can I take back (retract) a bid?
A. It is possible under some circumstances to retract a bid, but in general eBay rules forbid it.

Q. Does eBay track sales statistics?
A. The more serious you are about buying or selling on eBay, the more likely it is that serious market research data will become important to you. Once you decide that you want to know what the most listed items are, or what the average selling price of a certain kind of item is, there is nothing left but to choose a product and access the data.

Q. When is an eBay auction null and void?
A. Though in nearly all cases completed eBay item listings are binding legal contracts between buyer and seller, there are a few exceptions to this rule that come into play under exceptional circumstances.

Q. Can I buy and sell major assets on eBay?
A. Yes you can buy and sell homes, automobiles, boats, and other major assets on eBay. Millions of people have already done it!

Q. Can I avoid doing business with problem buyers?
A. Sellers, you can indeed prevent problem buyers from placing bids on your auctions in the first place, whether you want to exclude low-feedback bidders, international bidders, or non-PayPal bidders.

Q. Can I buy and sell anything I want on eBay?
A. No, there are indeed limits on the range of things that you can buy and sell on eBay, and they are generally quite strictly enforced.

Q. Can I buy and sell wholesale or in bulk lots on eBay?
A. Though eBay is a great market for finding deals on (and getting rid of) household items and products that you use, it's also a great place for big-time buyers and sellers to move inventories at wholesale.

Q. How does eBay affect my taxes?
A. The same way any other self-employment income would.
